Different Auto Insurance Policies

There are more cars hitting the road every year. With so many vehicles on the road, crashes will happen. Car insurance can make the difference between a small setback and a large hassle. But why do you need insurance and just how much do you need? Auto insurance provides you with protection from paying for damage caused to your vehicle or someone else's vehicle and injury to other people, yourself, or your passengers, plus specific other situations, such as theft. Deciding to drive without insurance could mean you have to repair or replace a stolen or damaged vehicle or pay the cost of all the damage that you may have caused. Liability: Personal injury and property damage that you are responsible for will be covered under liability insurance. Damages from bodily injury can include medical expenses, and lost wages. Property damage includes damaged property and loss of use of property. It also covers your legal fees if you are sued. State laws typically require standard amounts, but larger amounts can be purchased and are extremely helpful. Personal Injury Protection: Personal injury insurance is required in some states and is optional in others. It pays you or your passengers for medical treatment resulting from a crash, regardless of who may have been at fault, and is often called no-fault coverage. It may also pay for lost wages, replacement of services and funeral expenses. The minimum amount of personal injury protection is typically set by the state. Medical Payments: Medical payment coverage can be purchased in non-no-fault states; it will pay despite who may be responsible. This insurance will pay for all insured person's reasonable medical or funeral expenses for bodily injury from a crash. Collision: Pays for damage to your vehicle caused by an accident. Comprehensive: This type of insurance protection covers any damages not caused by a collision. This may include weather damage, vandalism, and theft. Uninsured Motorist: If you are in an accident with a driver without insurance, this type of insurance will make sure you are covered. Under-Insured Motorist: Similar to uninsured motorist protection, this type of insurance covers you from people driving without enough insurance coverage.
